Gordo Banks Trip Report – August 2025

Trip to Gordo Banks with 1 guest and 1 guide. Hammerheads and silky sharks were the focus of the day, with navigation “around the bank” as the highlight. Sea state was normal, with medium waves and a bit of wind throughout the trip.

Diving Conditions:

  • Water temperature: 75-80 ºF / 24-27 ºC
  • Visibility: 20-30 ft / 6–10 m

Wildlife Encounter:

  • 10+ School of Hammerheads
  • Silky Sharks

10th August

Trip to Gordo Banks with 3 guests and 1 guide. We left the marina early at 6:45 am and enjoyed a nice ride offshore. Conditions were normal with medium waves and some wind. Long encounters with scout hammerheads and silky sharks made the day special.

  • Visibility: 70-80 ft / 21–25 m

Private Gordo Banks trip. The site felt full of life from start to finish, highlighted by a memorable long interaction with Sharks. Surface conditions remained normal with medium waves and wind.

After days of rough weather, we finally enjoyed calm seas and great visibility. A silky shark circled divers at the safety stop, passing extremely close.
